Meet the Networkers

We've been developing our network across the UK. Our networkers are experienced in running prayer spaces, love training and equipping others to run prayer spaces and meeting, talking, dreaming and scheming about prayer spaces over a coffee. We thought you'd like to meet our latest netwokers here's a bit more about them. 

​​​​​​HARRIET PEARCE lives in Woking, Surrey with her husband Simon and two cats. Harriet is a qualified Youth Worker and has worked with children and young people for ten years.  Harriet is the Leader of Schools Ministry for SparkFish a local Schools Ministry Charity in Reigate, she loves getting involved in SparkFish Prayer Spaces (called Think! Spaces) across primary, secondary schools and colleges!  Harriet loves drinking coffee, visiting National Trust properties and reading! 

 

FIONA BARBER lives in Lougborough with her husband and two teenage daughters. Fiona was a Primary Teacher and a Church Children’s and families worker before working for a charity called SOaR. Supporting churches in serving their local community. She spends a lot of time in schools doing assemblies and after school clubs and has supported 22 prayer spaces so far! Fiona loves to be creative, drawing and experimenting with different media or crocheting.

 

JAMES ALDER Lives in Maidstone with his wife Sophie and son Caleb and their Labrador Dora. He heads up the Churches and Schools Together (CAST) ministry, which has been facilitating prayer spaces for 5 years and has seen the growth of and increasing desire for Prayer Spaces in Schools in the secondary schools in the town. In his spare time James enjoys playing cricket or walking in the beautiful Kent countryside.

 

JANE WHITTINGTON was a primary school teacher before being a primary school Head Teacher. Jane set up one of the very first prayer spaces in Farnham in 2007. Jane now works as one of the Schools Officers for the Diocese of Guildford.  Her role includes responsibility for RE, collective worship spiritual development and developing parish and school links. Jane lives in Guildford with her husband David.

JONATHAN RICHARDSON runs the Children, Youth & Families Team for the Diocese of Norwich.  The team has run prayer spaces in the cathedral and other events.  They have a resource centre where you can borrow prayer space resources, including, gazebos, lights, pebbles, etc.  Find information about borrowing resources and access training information on their website.

 

 

SHARON PRITCHARD is the Children's Ministry Adviser for the Diocese of Durham. Sharon offers training, support, resources and advice to parishes in the diocese in all aspects of Children's Ministry from the Tyne to the Tees.  She's been working with schools and churches with prayer spaces for a few years now and runs a yearly prayer space in Durham Cathedral for 3000 Y6 children!  Sharron lives in Chester le Street with her husband Alan.

 

 

JULIA PLAUT is an educator, composer and bassoonist based in Cardiff. She runs an annual prayer space in the Cathedral School, Llandaff. From a start of 2 days and 264 pupils in 2104, it has become a cherished yearly event running for 4 days and attended by 555 pupils, aged from Year 2 -11. Julia is really looking forward to helping people lift-off with prayer spaces in South Wales.

 

 

 

SIMON DENNIS currently works for Sheddocksley Baptist Church in Aberdeen. Previously Simon had worked in the oil industry before leaving that to work in ministry in 2010. In 2011 he helped pioneer the very first prayer spaces in a school in Aberdeen. His passions in life include coffee, football and family!
