"The prayer space brought the whole school community together - a shared experience for all. It was a time to be still, to reflect on our many blessings and to consider issues affecting others both locally and across the world. I highly recommend that other schools adopt a prayer space time of their own. You won't be disappointed!"Jane Crouch (Head teacher, Oxford)

Citizenship is about helping young people to play an effective role in public life, developing social and moral responsibility, community involvement and political literacy. Although principally about the UK it also touches on our role as global citizens. It encourages pupils to take an interest in topical and controversial issues and to engage in discussion and debate. Pupils learn about their rights, responsibilities, duties and freedoms and about laws, justice and democracy.

Citizenship is taught as a lesson throughout secondary school and can lead to a half-GCSE qualification.
