Social and emotional skills are the skills of making positive relationships with other people, of understanding and managing ourselves and our own emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.

SEAL is not taught as a subject, like RE, but is a whole school approach. Students, and staff, have a range of opportunities to develop these skills through formal learning, for example in tutor groups or as an aspect of lessons, as well as through one to one support work and informal approaches throughout school life.
