“The children loved having the prayer space in school. Every child I spoke to was positive and said how calm and relaxed the room made them feel. The children felt like it was a safe place, and spoke about a peace that being inside the prayer spaces gave them. One child said it made them feel confident that they could bring anything to God, and another said how it helped them to remember that they could pray in any way, anywhere.”Jake Bateson (Head of RE, Birmingham)

Stories catch our imagination. It's why soap operas and (so-called) reality shows attract our attention. We are interested in the lives of other people because we are trying to make sense of our own. This activity encourages pupils to watch and listen to stories from people who believe that their faith in God has helped them in various ways, and to consider what these stories might mean for them.

This prayer activity uses short video clips from You Tube or Christian websites, such as www.iamsecond.com. You could encourage pupils to write or draw their thoughts, questions, responses to the video afterwards.
