'I think the greatest impression was made on the staff, a few of whom had been skeptical or uncomfortable with the idea of prayer spaces. These teachers visibly thawed as they went round the activities with the children and in their feedback one teacher suggested they should include more about prayer on the curriculum.'Volunteer (England)

Most students are aware of world events through the news and other media sources, even if they don't know exactly where-in-the-world these events are taking place, nor what they mean. Furthermore many students have relatives and friends living in nations around the world. This activity encourages students to pray for those situations, and for those relatives and friends.

This activity works best if you have a very large world map or globes that students can stick post-it note prayers onto. The larger the map the better, so that nations and cities don't get covered too quickly. If the map gets too crowded, you can cluster post-it note prayers to one side or the other and connect them to the location with a piece of string, or an arrow.
