Since the launch of Prayer Spaces in Schools in Scotland there has been an increading desire across the country to involve pupils in Prayer Spaces. A short while ago I received this report from Gillian Ferguson at Bearsden Academy and enjoyed it so much I had to share.
You can click to the left to download the report - here's the conclusion to tempt you:
"In conclusion...
An overwhelming number of pupils commented on the peacefulness of Soul Space. One even said they enjoyed the ‘complete silence’. We do not believe with all those teenagers that there was ever complete silence in the room, however pupils obviously felt a sense of peace, and quiet! The Chaplaincy Team believe that as well as being a great opportunity to experience God through creative Christian prayer, this was one of the best opportunities Soul Space was able to offer pupils; a chance to take time out and to reflect on their lives, the wider world and faith, in a quiet space. With the hectic pace at which most adults live their lives, it seems very important to offer this to our young people and to teach them how to make their own personal quiet time, or indeed ‘soul space’."
If you have a story or photo's you'd like to share, or even if you just want to tell us how you're feeling about all of this why not email us - mandy@prayerspacesinschools.com. We'd love to hear from you.
