“Thank you Dad…R.I.P Love you xxx” was one student’s response at the ‘Be Thankful’ prayer activity. This got me thinking… if all this prayer space does is help that young person to be thankful rather than bitter that their father has died it is worth the effort.” Chris Browne reports on the first prayer space in Bradford-upon-Avon

“As a team that had only done the occasional assembly in Sea Mills Primary School before, we were both excited and slightly nervous about setting up our first prayer space. Over 2 days, children from reception to year 6 came to experience what prayer can look like. We didn’t have a particular topic for our prayer space, other than explaining that prayer is more than just asking God for things.”

“Working with the Schools’ Team has been one of my most amazing experiences doing prayers spaces with the children at Atkinson Road. I felt so emotional when I got home, I cried a lot.” Diana Humphrey has been working in Benwell schools for seven years, but this was her first prayer space.

“This was our second prayer space and it filled the nave of our local church. This time the various areas were separated by gazebos and curtain material with lots of low lighting, and it was just as awesome. As we opened the church door to each new class of children, we were greeted by “Wow!” and “Cor!” Lots of wide eyes and wide mouths!”

“Our first Prayer Spaces week took place in Walker Technology College in June, and what a week it was! We were given the fantastic library room, free from furnishings. “Do what you want with it, you can be as creative as you like,” said the Head teacher. What an invitation!” Anne Fothergill reports on a fantastic prayer space.
