    FIVE brand new Prayer Stations for the Olympics

    If you click across the Resources section on this website, you'll find FIVE brand new prayer station (zones? activities? what should we call these?) ideas, based on themes to do with the Olympics, which you can download and use;

    1. Thankful Ribbons

    2. Weightlifting Worries

    3. Olympic Torch

    4. Football Prayers

    5. Flag Prayers

    If you've developed some new prayer stations, especially around Olympic themes, please send them in. We'd love to hear about any new ideas that you've created and used in primary and secondary schools, and we'd love to share them with others as well, if that's OK.

    When you send them, please include;

    + your name, and the organisation/school/church you've been working in

    + did you use the resource with primary or secondary students?

    + the title of the resource

    + the purpose - in one sentence, what does it enable students to do?

    + the materials needed to create the resource

    + and additional instructions or information for using the resource

    + and most importantly, a photo of the resource

    FIVE brand new Prayer Stations for the Olympics photo

    Phil Togwell is preparing to move North (Whitley Bay, near Newcastle, UK) with his family (three daughters - Megan, Poppy and Angel, and one wife - Emma). Phil is learning to cook, slowly.     "Prayer Spaces In Schools enable children and young people to explore faith and spirituality from a broadly Christian perspective in a safe, creative and interactive way. A range of flexible resources can be adapted to work for participants aged 5 to 18 bringing an experiential dimension to a variety of subject areas and to pastoral aspects of school life."

    Much of what we do in school is on a horizontal level in terms of human to human but to actually get a chance to stop and think about that vertical relationship, about humans and our relationship with God. It's a privilege really. It's just wonderful to be able to do it for the children.

    The feel of this room is so peaceful - does not feel as though I am at school! Let’s you escape + just contemplate about yourself, others + life. We do not allow for us to take time to do this at school. Thank you for touching so many girls lives + allowing them to contemplate + be themselves.

    ‘The Prayer Room is a great opportunity for students to have an experience of prayer rather than solely learning about prayer in RE lessons. The Prayer Room facilitates the opportunity for students to learn from RE, rather than just to learn about RE. The different ways for students to engage with prayer, whilst in the prayer room, enables all young people to have a fresh understanding of what prayer means, rather than seeing it just in a traditionally dry way.’
