For the past few years, 24-7’s Stanford-le-Hope Boiler Room community have been hosting small groups of interns who have come to learn and pray and join-in with their rhythms of community life. This year, the focus is on Prayer Spaces in Schools.
Carla Taylor and her small team of Stanford Boiler Room community volunteers have already been hosting Prayer Spaces in a few local schools, both primary and secondary - here are a few links to stories on the Prayer Spaces in Schools website;

As in many other areas around the UK, the success of these first few Prayer Spaces has stirred interest in other schools. Carla and her team now have more opportunities to host Prayer Spaces in schools in their area than they can deliver. Which is why they are focusing this year’s Boiler Room community internships around their work into schools.
If you’re interested in taking a year (or more?) out to relocate and join with the Stanford-le-Hope Boiler Room community, to learn and live with them, and to serve as part of their new Prayer Spaces in Schools team, then read on...

So far, the Stanford Prayer Spaces in Schools team have already been invited into 3 local schools (primary, secondary and sixth form), offering reflection and Prayer Space days, but this is probably just the beginning. Our hope and prayer is that this grows, so that we can be involved in discipling many thousands of children and young people in our area.
If you want to develop your own prayer life and personal walk...
If you have a passion to see children and young people who do not yet know God creatively learn to pray...
And if you want to see how to grow a Prayer Space team...
...then why not join us?
Up to five interns will live together in a ‘community house’ that we rent, and this is also an important part of the internship. We believe strongly in community.
And then, in addition to some personal study and reading, the Prayer Space team will meet regularly for training and for the ‘God Story’, a chronological study of the Bible that many 24-7 Prayer communities track through.
We are still finalising costs, but we expect them to be around £125-a-month towards core costs — including retreats, participation in 24-7’s Euro-Gathering 2011 etc. ) And of course, interns will need to pay for room/rent in the community house, which currently stands at £300 per month (£3600 for the year).
We’d love for you to come and join us!
