In just a few short years many Christians have begun working in schools in a much more in-depth way that is often called ‘Chaplaincy’. We noticed this at the one day conference back in October where chaplaincy was one of the ideas discussed as part of the “What next” workshop.

So we’re really excited about a one day conference, “Chaplaincy in Education” which is for anyone who is already working in chaplaincy in schools or colleges or is interested in finding out more. The day is very much a starting point for networking with others, sharing ideas and good practice, and thinking about some of the specific issues relating to chaplaincy.

After hearing about examples of chaplaincy in a primary school, a secondary school and an FE college there will be six curated conversations around a range of themes where you can contribute to a discussion and learn from others. There will also be some practical workshops to help resource you in the work of chaplaincy.

Chaplaincy in Education: A day conference exploring new opportunities in school and college chaplaincy is on Thursday 1st March 2012 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Kings Gate Community Church, Peterborough and costs £25. Advance booking is required.
