YouthWork South West is a partnership between some of the main church denominations together with Christian youth and children's organisations working in south west England.
The YouthWork South West Day Conference will feature input from Matt Summerfield and Rachel Gardner, and will have a large choice of workshops during the day, covering a wide range of topics of interest to volunteers working with children and/or teenagers, as well as full-time workers in schools and churches.
Joe Knight (Prayer Spaces in Schools, Gloucester), Liz Ogbourne (Redlands Education Centre) and Jane Simkins (Christ Church Clifton) will be hosting the workshop on 'How to set up a Prayer Space'. Here's what the blurb says;
"Do you have a heart for enabling children and young people outside of church to engage with prayer, connect with God and explore their spirituality? Running a prayer space in school could be the way forward. Prayer spaces in schools have taken off all over the UK. Come along and be inspired to run one in your local school(s). We will be talking about thw why and the how of running prayer spaces in schools, interspresed with stories and innovative ideas."
The workshop will run from 2pm-3.15pm as part of one of the workshops streams.
