In one week in July this year more prayer spaces happened in schools than in the whole of 2009. In four years 6 have become more than 260! From a simple seed of an idea has grown a movement that now embraces every educational sector and for many schools a prayer space is part of their annual cycle of activities. With this astounding growth has come new challenges and new opportunities to be agents of spiritual change in schools and colleges.
That’s why we’d love to see you at our second annual Prayer Spaces in Schools Day Conference this October.
In Edinburgh, we will be focusing the whole day around starting out, with input and workshops on;
- How to host a prayer space in your local school
- The theology and values behind prayer spaces
- Recruiting and training your team
In London and Leeds there will be inspiring short talks with time to discuss the issues raised plus a whole load of practical workshops on;
- Starting out
- Designing spiritual resources
- Permanent prayer spaces
...and a session together looking at prayer spaces in multi-faith settings.
Whether you’re thinking about your first prayer space or have a whole school chaplaincy and regular prayer space programme running, your voice, your experience and your questions are an essential ingredient in making this day the best way to learn together about how Prayer Spaces in Schools are growing.
We really hope that you can join with us.
